-Weapon/Equipment-
High CAP Weapon, Increase Shoot Rate Stuff, Dual Absorb MP and HP Necklace
-Skills-
Lvl Quite High: Lightning'n'Thunder,
Lvl As You Like: Illusion,
Lvl 1: Dragon Prance
-Explanation-
This will give you a speedy attack with good damage. Plus the fact that Lightning'n'Thunder gives 4 attacks for 8 mana, an absorb necklace would mean you can attack non stop without eating many fungus or wheat cake because you will be constantly absorbing back mana and hp. Example: Your CAP is after Dragon Prance around 50-60. A 4% dual absorb gives you around 2.2 mana per hit. So Lightning'n'Thunder hits 4 times pays for itself and slowly, the other 2 skills in mana cost as well with hp coming back as well.
Paladin doesn't have the most benefit from any of the 4 stats. What is suggest is for CAP attacking Paladin.
The primary stat for paladin is STR. Secondary stat for paladin is CON and DEX. Yes, Paladin needs to have 2 secondary stats as he needs Shoot Rate to hit and HP/CDP to take punishment.
Add 5 STR, 3 DEX and 2 CON per level.
At lvl 35, convert to 6 STR, 2 CON and 2 DEX.
Once a while increase your WIS such that you should have enough MP for skill usage.
Paladin is capable of forging much better armour/weapon. Thus at high level, STR is given more emphasis as Defense and Shoot Rate could be make up by most of the armour pieces crafted.
Im currently lv45 CAP Paladin and this is only from what I experienced; BTW, all following information is for you to build a good hunting paladin, not for you to build a PK Paladin.
-Stats Points-
Add 5 STR, 3 CON, 2 DEX each level.
Do not ever waste points on WIS. To keep up with your mana use (mana pot and MP absorbing necklace).
After lvl 35: Add 8 STR, 2 CON, stop putting point to DEX.
-Weapon/Equipment-
Get a High CAP Falchion, attack speed doesn't matter because Lightning'n'Thunder and Heart Piercing both aer not affected by weapon attack speed.
-Skills-
The following way is the best to save money when your higher level.
LvL1 skills (only put 1 points to activate them): Fierce advance, Dragon Prance, Stanching and Making-Things (do not add points to Making-Things until ur lv31 before that you craft better items from blacksmiths).
LvL2 skills: Lighting'n'Thunder and Illusion only (Illusion at lvl1, and max Lighting'n'Thunder to lvl9)
LvL3 skills: Heart Piercing and Dragon Prance 2 (and try max both of them as much as possible). Overwhelming Thunder is good for pk only. After you get Heart Piercing and Dragon Prance 2 forget all lvl1 and lvl2 skills except making things.
-Training Areas-
I'm gonna start at lv20 since lv1~20 most people should know already. Between, get a high savvy helm (at least savvy 35+, its very good for level up than the few more defense you get from normal helm).
LvL20~25: Hunt in Changsa (has very good ore and pine for your level and gest very good item drops)
LvL25~30: Hunt in Hengsan village.
LvL30~40: Hunt in Jiujiang for the money (you'll need them to learn lvl3 skills and for all the book you'll need).
LvL40~45: Hunt in Bear Cave or Sleeping Phoenix Hillrock (Bear Cave good to get some skin for new gears; but Phoenix Hillrock is good for money and ore/pine also there is a chance you might get a lvl4 skillbook there).
LvL45~50: Hunt in Sub of Handan for good money and raw materials.
-Skill 1-
Fierce advance - Maxxed
Dragon Prance - lvl 1
Stanching - lvl 1
-Skill 2-
Whirlwind - Maxxed
Holy shield (mana regen) - lvl 1
Illusion - lvl 1
-Skill 3-
Fierce advance 2 - lvl 1
Stanching 2
Become Terra cotta
Pierce
Why maxxing out Whirlwind people keep on asking. Well should I maxx Illusion instead? I do like speed, but Whirlwind doesn't need you to run much. The Earth Advance or any other elemental advance has very nice bonus and looks interesting to upgrade them, but when you get nice % of damage from it, you can already start using Fierce Advance 2!
I've trashed Fierce advance after I got Fierce advance 2. I plan to max Pierce and invest skill on Become Terra cotta when I have points left.
Stanching 2 looks fun, I plan to keep it on lvl 1.
Well I think I retire the paladin after he can learn Pierce or after lvl 40 to check the next town. Skill level 4 and Skill level 5 isn't interesting anymore, the tactic/skills is quite the
same way to use and spend.
You will notice I've kept a lot of skill only at lvl 1. At lvl 1 you get all your skill points back when you trash them. You have to choose between defense or attack skill. The choice for me is simple. I do not plan to stand still and say "I can regenerate faster then they do
damage on me" .... oh wow! what about "you also scratch them ?"
I go for attack power! Because the bonus when you add one skill lvl on the defensive/support skills are very low...who wants 2,5% extra speed while another skill give you 10% more
damage?
Look at skill Stanching lvl-9, what use is it when you get Stanching 2 lvl-1?
You don't have enough skill points to upgrade them all, so I pick one skill to maxx it at each skill level to move on to the next level.
Playing Elemental is different than Common attack paladins. Common attack focus on one
powerful blast. The Elemental starts with a more spread damage with the Whirl skill. The difference lies here.... we want HUGE packs of mobs with LOW HP to chop off their heads in a few whirls. The bigger the pack, the better the EXP!
Using Whirl has a side effect, I have notice I often get hurt. I don't know if your dodge rate drops when you Whirl or is it the huge pack of mobs I am facing. Good life pool and good CDP is needed to support.
The Mana will be a trouble to maintain. Good +mana items is much more usefull than %mana regen, because WW drains faster than you can ever regen! If you can increase your mana pool you can WW more often and you will also have more space to regenerate it back!
STR is needed to for equipments
CON is needed for to increase CDP and EDP
DEX is needed for using elemental weapons (strange, shouldn't it be wisdom?)
WIS is needed to increase your elemental attack power
Savvy is needed to prevent getting bored for killing the same mobs days after days.
(Comments from zingma): Well this buil about elemental paladin is only useful for lvl 40 and below. However beyond that, the skill needed may not be the same. My lvl 43 Elemental Paladin has only 1 point in Whirlwind and I managed to survive pretty well. The points are needed for me for lvl 3 skills, thus now I have invested a bit in fierce advance 2 because it is much needed from lvl 32 onwards for effective lvling. Reason being that in the 4th town, there is not much animals enemies that will rush forward to you and surround you for you to whirlwind. Thus most of the time, you will need FA 2 to clear bandits to lvl.
